Based in Zagreb, Croatia, Active Line Six makes a welcome return to Bonzai with this fantastic EP. AL6 has been involved with EDM since he was 17 when he got his first residency at popular Croatian club Kulusic and this led him to play many gigs around the country. In 1995 he first got together with Bonzai at Dom Sportova when he played trance sets with the likes of Fly, Franky Kloeck and others. In the last few years AL6 began to produce and the results are brilliant. In 2012 he debuted on Basiks with “Requiem” and then with “Silent dream” on Eyepatch. First up is “Chrome” a very subtle understated techno vibe with a hypnotic rhythm. The track starts with a classic kick and offset bass overlaid with a simple yet very effective tone. A nice flow builds up on the percussion with a raft of quality FX keeping the vibe alive, a very cool short vocal shot drops in throughout to make for a top notch slice. “Hearts” is a much brighter tune with the intro filled with crisp, sharp hats and some quality percussions. Again we see a FX put right into the mix at the right time which shows tight arrangement skills. The track builds slowly with the bass causing a transformation in the groove, a real techno/house hybrid that will fill those boxes for sure.
Croatia’s premier DJ/Producer/ Remixer ACTIVE LINE SIX (Tactical, Disko Massaka, Gens, Blue Dye, Eyepatch, Zemi, Greencote, Bonzai Basiks, etc..), continues to maintain the pressure on respected flagship AUDIOMETRIC RECORDS imprint with “Drum Lyrics” EP. Active Line Six kicks release 013 off with 1st track ‘Subviolent’, some seriously driving and infectious percussive grooves and a funky arse baseline to get those butts shaking, with some clever stabs, filtering action and clever edits also thrown in to ensure serious dance floor action, expect to see this crossover as we roll into the Summer. 2nd track ‘Trifecta’ stepping up injects with extra layers of percussive funk and a whopping rollin sub-baseline before he delivers the jaw dropping breakdown, to cause widespread chaos with this peak time interpretation. With support of Active Line Six already for the past few months from Dubfire, Paul Oakenfold, and many more….We are expecting “Drum Lyrics” EP to be one of this summers crossover tech-house productions all over the world, now that we have promoted the release, miss at your peril!
